UNITIES leverages the expertise and active research activities taking place at several world-leading research groups. In particular, UNITIES draws upon the University of Exeter’s initiative in the digital economy at Exeter (INDEX) which focuses on deepening our understanding of risk, trust, and value in the digital age. INDEX’s impact-focused research activities bring together a multi-disciplinary team to work with and in business to explore and experiment with new business models and solutions, and to impact those environments through enhanced ways of operating to test out solutions in a rapid delivery environment.
The work carried out at UNITIES is further leveraged through partnerships and joint activities with other highly respected groups at the University of Exeter, and across the broader research landscape. Most notably, UNITIES is involved in on-going joint activities with leading UK research institutions such as the vHIVE project at the University of Surrey, the Business School at the University of Law, and the Alan Turing Institute (the UK national research centre for AI and Data Science). Through these relationships UNITIES gains access and insights into emerging innovative solutions, creates pathways to bring innovative ideas into product delivery, and develops frameworks and tools for accelerating innovation practices.
In addition to its research-based, links, UNITIES also maintain partnerships with several other leading practitioner groups. Deeper customer-focused data gathering and building of experimental prototypes is carried out through its activities with teams such as Scrum.org, NotBinary, Defacto.ED, FutureAgenda, BioBeats, and ATC.
